Win provides top 5 spot

Leopold bounced back from last week's loss with a solid win over a gallant Lara.

The 11-point win at the Leopold Memorial Reserve has lifted the Lions info fifth spot on the ladder.

But they were made to work hard for the win by the Cats, which would encourage Lara coach Ben Harris.

Lee Purton was once again brilliant for Leopold down back, while Aaron Greaves booted five goals.

Youngster Luke Dahlhaus was solid for the Lions and proved that, despite his age, he belongs in senior football.

For Lara, Joel Page was once again his team's best player after a great game against ladder-leader South Barwon last week.

Leopold has a chance to test itself against one of the best in the business next Saturday, St Joseph's.

The Cats will be looking to score their second win of the year when they take on a St Albans side full of confidence after breaking their drought on the weekend.
