The next 4 weeks will shape the 2009 season for our club and today we travel to Drew Reserve to play St Joseph’s. We go there with the knowledge that last year we had one our best performances at this ground and recorded a very good win. We hope to repeat that performance with another win. To all our teams today, good luck.
On the Football front we managed to come away with 3 wins against Lara. Our Senior team bounced back from a poor performance against Grovedale to record a good win against a very much improved Lara. The addition of young blood in Luke Dahlhaus and Jai Thompson gave us more bite and when combined with some seasoned campaigners in Lee Collins and Lee Purton, we were able to record a win.
The Reserves continued on their way recording another win against another much improved Lara team. In a close game all day we managed to get over the line. As in previous weeks the blend of young and older players is really starting to work and our performances are now more consistent.
The U/18 Team also continued on with their good form and had a comfortable win against Lara. This team now comes up against some formidable opponents which will give us an indication of where we really are positioned for the rest of the year. We again had another of our Under 18 players, Mitch Warren win the weekly League SOFA award. Mitch is a new player to our club this year and is a great asset for this team. Well done Mitch. Our Senior Netball section continued its run of good form with all but the U/17 team recording wins. All teams are entrenched at the moment in finals contention and are all playing some good netball. The hard work is really paying dividends and our improvement this year across all areas has been very pleasing. Our C grade team has continued on its winning form and still sits undefeated. Well done Girls and lets keep the run going. Good luck to all our girls today and lets have winds all round.

Netball
The rain held off for a great winter’s day of netball, our supporters turning out in force to witness another clean sweep of the senior grades.
The A’s held on and came away with a 2 goal win over the Lara girls. Anna ‘shook’ off a wack to the head to pull off yet another best on court performance. Supported by the ever-reliable Nikki in the middle and Brooke moving well in the circle with Bully.
The B’s steadied in the second half to pull away to an 18 goal win. Chloe continuing her fine form in the midcourt, supported well by the hard running Dory and Emma accurate under the ring with 29. Sue, you better order Chloe another bodysuit, she will need a new one before the season is out.
The C’s remain on top and undefeated with a superb display of team work. Rach leading the way in goals with 17 to her name, Nic and Sarah providing plenty of drive and support down attack. An excellent start to the season girls!
The D’s secured a comfortable 20 goal win with Bec in the best once again with a 25 goal haul, Jana providing an endless supply of drives and Bri working tirelessly to stop the drives of the Lara girls. It’s great to see all senior teams right up there in the top 4 - let’s keep up the good work!
